BLUE LAGOON COMINO


Between Comino and Cominotto lie the stunning transparent, cyan waters of the Blue Lagoon (Maltese: Bejn il-Kmiemen, literally "Between the Cominos"). Frequented by large numbers of tourists and tour boats daily, the Blue Lagoon is a much photographed, picturesque bay, with a brilliant white, sandy base, and a rich marine life that make it popular for diving, snorkeling and swimmers. Other beaches on Comino include St. Mary Bay and St. Nicholas Bay.

St Augustine's Abbey in Historic Canterbury

St Augustine's Abbey

This great abbey, marking the rebirth of Christianity in southern England, was founded in AD 597 by St Augustine. Originally created as a burial place for the Anglo-Saxon kings of Kent, it is part of the Canterbury World Heritage Site, along with the Cathedral and St Martin's Church.

The impressive abbey is situated outside the city walls and is bordered to the left by Canterbury Christ Church University college campus.

Water Tower at Herne Bay


Ever wondered whats on top of the Water Tower at Herne Bay,

Well, the 100 foot tall concrete water tower overlooking Herne Bay from the top of Mickleburgh Hill is now only used as a base for radio transmitters.
Possibly now under threat of removal for redevelopment by Mid Kent Water.

This brand new shopping centre is built on the riverside site of a Victorian brewery. The development brings around 50 new shops including House of Fraser, Oasis, Faith, HMV and Ernest Jones, as well as restaurants and a 800 space car park to the town centre.
